1 a Local Methodist church conducts essay contest The Henning Memorial Methodist church in cooperation with the Louisiana Conference of Methodist church temperance board will conduct a temperance essay contest at the church here. Jay and Anna Clark Whitaker the two representaKoonce, tives from this church who are participating. The theme for this year's contest is "Juvenile Delinquency Your Problem and Mine." The youths will compete on a local church level, then on a subdistrict level, later on a district level. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners. An impartial group of church judges will be chosen to select the winning essay Wednesday during family night.

Mr. LeBlane died in 1937. The LeBlanes first came to Sulphur in 1905 when Mr. LaBlane operated a grocery store where Blanchette's Grocery now stands. At the time, this was known as the Vincent building and the Vincent family and Charles Etie and his parents occupied the top floor while the bottom floor was used as the store.
Leaving this location, the late Mr. LeBlane opened his store at the site where the present Etie's store now is. Mrs. LeBlanc and her son, J. Lee "LeBlane, his wife and their three children, and Mrs.
Louise Savert observed the occasion at a family dinner in her home, 221 West Thomas street. Sam R. Holden named director of LMTA group The Louisiana Motor Association, during their 15th annual, convention at the Jung Hotel, New Orleans, Feb. 10-12, elected S. R.
