Following the Biblical mandate of Matthew 25 – “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was homeless and you took me in, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you ministered me and I was in prison and you came to me”. These ministries include:
- Joseph’s Storehouse and Resource Center: Our food and clothing ministry
- Redlands Cold Weather Shelter: The City’s shelter during cold winter nights
- Hope On Wheels: Food and support for individuals with AIDS and their families
- E-Waste Recycling: Helping fund our ministries
- Alcoholic’s Anonymous (AA) meetings
All of this is made possible through the effort and support of numerous churches, organizations, businesses and individuals. Consider volunteering some of your time. You can visit The Blessing Center at the corner of Stuart Ave. and Church St. in Redlands.

hello there. my grown daughter is about to be homeless in a few days and will be in need of shelter, can you help or recomend somewhere that can? Your answer sure would be appreciated. Thank-you! She lives in Hemet, CA.
Hi Theresa!
My name is Kristine and I volunteer at The Blessing Center. I have a brother who lives in Hemet so I can ask him if he knows of any resources for you. Could you please tell me what exactly is your daughters exact situation because I will be asked questions when I bring this up undoubtedly. They will want to know things like, age, if she has kids with her, does she have an income or is this a charity situation until she gets on her feet, what kind of schedule does she keep, and like questions. I hope those questions are not too personal. Also, if she is on probation, has a drug problem, or has been charged with any criminal activity of any kind will be a must to know as I’m sure, as a mom yourself, you would want to know if the situation were in reverse. Basically, the more you can tell me about her needs, the better I can try and accomidate you.
I know it’s strange getting asked all those questions. I’m just the type of person that likes to get right down to business and from the sounds of it, your daughter has no time to waste!
If you need a character referrence on me (so you know I’m not some psycho just trying to compile her info for staulking purpose (lol), please contact The Blessing Center on Tuesdays (as they are the crew I work with normally and know me the best) and speak with Rico who is one of our team leads, Pastor Joel, Darrell, or pretty much anybody who works in the food bank section.
Blessings to you and your daughter,
Kristine Elliott
